Does it feel like the walls of your kid’s room are closing in on you? Have toys invaded the living room and refuse to be harnessed by any organizer available? Then we might be in the same boat! (Just message me, we can grab a coffee and lament together!)
As the kids headed back to school after Winter Break, I noticed it. Then, I ignored it. Then, I became overwhelmed and had a mini mommy tantrum. The toys have taken over! And for our family, that means it is time to purge and set aside all the good ones for the Uptown Kids Consignment sale. Of course there are other consignment sales, this one just has a great homey feel and I love meeting up with other moms while shopping at this locally owned, mommy-centric business.
Steps to purging the clutter and making some money at the sale:
Step One: Admit there is a problem.
Step Two: Cry (maybe eat a snack sized Snickers bar… no one will blame you).
Step Three: Dry tears and grab a garbage can (for broken toys) and a box (for toys in great condition).
Step Four: Bag ‘em! You don’t want a ton of little fingers loving on that toy before a new family purchases it! Grab a quart or gallon sized ziploc bag and protect it– this also makes for easy tagging.
Step Five: Enter the item on the Uptown Kids Consignment Sale Site (You name your item, choose your price, and if you would like it to go half price during the final day sale, and if you would like to donate the item if it was not sold).
Step Six: Print Tags on cardstock and attach to bags with packaging tape
Step Seven: Drop off at UPTK sale on March 26 or 27.
Step Eight: Pick up unsold items on the last day of the sale, or donate your items (requires no inventory pick up).
Step Nine: Checks are cut a few hours after the sale is over.
Step Ten: Enjoy your profit. You will earn at least 65% of all items you sell. You can earn 70% by volunteering at the sale!

Uptown Kids also accepts consigned clothing for the whole family, shoes, books, family friendly videos/dvds, and baby items (accessories, furniture, strollers, etc.)
Join me at their NEW LOCATION to shop for great sales. Uptown Kids has moved to Clovis for the Spring sale. You can find them March 29-April 1 in The Shaw Village located on the Southwest corner of Peach and Shaw. Please stop by my Fresno Couponing Girl table and say Hi! I love chatting with other moms and families about saving money in the Central Valley!
