Creative New Year

Here are two ideas for bringing in the New Year with a little DIY style.

Sweet Sugarbelle

What better way to celebrate 2012 than with cookies inspired by cookie expert Sweet Sugarbelle? If you’re not familiar with her blog, go — right now — and check it out. This blog is a virtual cookie lover’s dream. Sweet Sugarbelle has exquisite style and a flair for using ordinary cookie cutters in extraordinary ways. And her New Year’s cookie is no exception.

Project Life

The brainchild of scrapbook expert Becky Higgins, Project Life is a month-by-month look at life. It asks participants to take a photo each day. It sounds overwhelming, but if you think about it, the little things we do every day make up just who we are. Not all days are dress-up days. But the days spent hanging around the house or just goofing off define us. And it is just those moments that we need to capture and remember. Project Life is available in both digital and print versions. (Oh, and while you’re checking out Project Life, make sure to click on the “free stuff” section of Becky”s blog. She’s got some great fonts there, and some printables, too. )

  1. I like to check out sweet sugarbelle from time to time and also REALLY determined to do Project Life this year! Infact I was just writing a post about it the other day. Great ideas for starting the new year! :)

  2. Thanks http://thecreationzstudio.blogspot.com/ for the good words. I just love Sweet Sugarbelle, especially when she uses ordinary cookie cutters in unique and fun ways.
