Earlier this season, Heather Hilscher from the Facebook group: Fresno Frugal Finds tossed out an idea. She wanted to support local small businesses, artisans, and independent consultants in the valley, while still saving money Christmas shopping. She began by inquiring on her Facebook group page and sought out businesses willing to offer deals to her readers in exchange for the free advertising. In a short amount of time, Fresno Frugal Finds had plenty of offers, but with the limited ability of Facebook Groups, Heather asked my blog if we would be willing to make it a joint venture and host the deals she found for both groups’ readers. We jumped onboard and Fresno Frugal Christmas was created.

Fresno Frugal Christmas is a listing of amazing local deals offered to readers of Fresno Frugal Finds and Fresno Couponing. The twelve page document (found here) offers deals from twenty-eight merchants all based out of the Central Valley. All deals are valid through December 20, 2011, although a few extend through the end of the year.

We have encouraged our readers to buy local, rather than solely looking to big corporations for holiday deals. Whether you are looking for a photographer for an upcoming special event, looking for a housekeeper, or would like to purchase apparel or accessories, you can benefit from the Fresno Frugal Christmas listing. We love supporting our community and not breaking the bank!
