Pay-Bills

That Time of The Month?…

…it’s not what you may be thinking.

I’m always amazed when a certain time each month sneaks up on me and I think to myself, “didn’t I just do this?”. It’s when I pay the monthly household bills. And folks, I’m embarrassed to say, but I have not transitioned to electronic banking…I still write checks. I know, I know, I need to switch. In fact, with every other aspect of my life I’m all digital…this transition I’ve resisted. Oh well, one of these days I’ll let you know I’m a convert ad loving it.

Back to the bill-paying…I do have the privilege of keeping the home books, and am quite neurotic about it. For instance, when I balance the checkbook, if I’m even a penny off, it drives me NUTS until I reconcile it exactly. I also pay the bills all on the same day, then date the outside of the envelopes as to the due date, then rotate the actual date the bill goes out in the mail so I can time deposits with debits…I’ve cut it too close at times and incurred a late fee and that drives me NUTS too!

I suppose I should un-complicate this aspect of my life, right? Someday…for now, I do thrive on k-aos!
