I am soon off to Haiti with a team of eleven. This trip was planned long before the earthquake and now there is, of course, added importance. We arrive in Port Au Prince on July 17 and take the 60 mile (approximately 7 hour) journey to our destination of the mountain village of Fond des Blancs.
I’ve spent months trying to soak up as much information as I can about Haiti, it’s people and the earthquake. I’ve tried to spiff up my French and pick up some Creole yet I acknowledge I head into something very foreign. I don’t think I’ll miss electricity but I have spent considerable thought on the amount of toilet paper this trip will require. One bad mango and all bets are off.
Why go? Of course, we should always try to lend a hand when and where we can; especially in our own backyard. We should always try to encourage others wherever we are and wherever we go. Sometimes you get that call that says you are to go and then, if you can, you go. Vague? Ok.

Yes…plant those mustard seeds! How exciting this is, Amy. I’ve always wanted to do something like this. Let us know how it goes!
Congratulations on this big adventure, Annie. I’m sure you’ll show them how to grow the most glorious gardens in that tropical climate! We are praying for your safety.
Thanks to you both. Long day of team meeting and team packing today. Gosh the last coupla weeks go fast!
You are awesome. Have a fantastic trip sowing kindness!
Thanks Traci!
