Totally Digging The New Chaffee Zoo Exhibit

I’m sure it’s been said on CVM before but the Fresno Chaffee Zoo is a great way to spend a few hours with the kids. Or, in my case, with my little (nearing two-year-old) girl. I don’t think I’d want to be in charge of a big group roaming around the zoo all day, but lugging one around is nice.

Something new at the zoo you may not have seen yet is the Dino Dig:

It’s pretty sweet for those of us with toddlers that are WAY into digging right now. A pail, a shovel and some loose dirt is about as good as it gets for my little one:

So it’s basically a big pit with this loose gravel-y type stuff with pails and shovels scattered about for digging. And in the middle of it is a “fossil” of a T-Rex that you your kid can attempt to uncover:

Maybe it would be better to have another animal exhibit in that spot (it’s behind the restrooms next to the Safari Cafe, btw), but it’s not always easy to just get a new animal going. I actually like having something different to check out while still within the zoo:
